Large Animal Associates

Dr. Mike Johnson is a graduate of the University of California
School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1977. He moved to the Elk
Grove area in 1979 where he worked for Dr. Leland and Bernice
Schmidt at Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic. He became a partner and part
owner of BVC with Dr. Thomas Zehnder in 1984. Mike’s interests are
in all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery with emphasis in
orthopedics and reproduction. Dr. Johnson and his wife Diane reside
in the Wilton area. Diane is a real estate agent with Real Estate
Masters. They have four boys, Calvin Paul, Radford Thomas, Howard
Kenneth Gover, and Sherman Parker. The boys have been and are
involved in sports and the agricultural activities our local
community has to offer.

Dr. Thomas Zehnder received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at
the University of California at Davis in 1979. After two years of
dairy and small animal practice on the north coast of California,
Dr. Zehnder returned to his home town of Elk Grove. Along with Dr.
Michael Johnson, he purchased the Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic from
Dr. Leland Schmidt in 1984. Dr. Zehnder then took over management of
the Large Animal practice while Dr. Johnson managed the small animal
practice. Dr. Zehnder’s outside interests include golf, tennis, snow
skiing, waterskiing and horseback riding.

Dr. Erin Catching grew up in Elk Grove and is happy to have
returned. She received a B.S. in General Biology from University of
California, San Diego in 2000. She is a 2005 graduate of the
Veterinary School at the University of California, Davis. She
completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine, Surgery, and
Oncology at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists after veterinary school.
Her special interests are Internal Medicine, Emergency/Critical
Care, and Preventive Care. She has two wonderful cats at home, Roy
and Chloe, and enjoys traveling, crafting, and spending time with
friends and family.

Dr. Hodgson has been a veterinarian at BVC
for eleven years. She had worked three years as a vet tech, also at
BVC, prior to receiving her DVM degree from UC Davis School of
Veterinary Medicine.
Dr Hodgson’s clinical interests include: gastrointestinal disease,
endoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. Her outside interests are:
natural horsemanship and breeding horses, plus raising orchids.

Dr. Goemann was born and raised in
Sacramento and never got far from home. She graduated from UC Davis
in 1969 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Zoology and graduated
from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1972. Dr. Goemann moved to
rural Elk Grove in 1980 and began working at Bradshaw Veterinary
Clinic. She raised Arabian horses for some time, but now has a
smaller herd of Chihuahuas and cats, mostly damaged or flawed.
Currently five of each reside with her. She enjoys her free time at
Lake Tahoe.

Anne Gray graduated from UC Davis School
of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After a year-long internship with
the Sacramento Animal Medical Group she joined BVC. Her special
interests include avian medicine, ultrasound and neurology. When not
at work, she enjoys gardening, reading and hiking with her boyfriend
and dog, Jack. For the last 10 years she has studied latin and
ballroom dancing, and enjoys competing, performing and occasionally
teaching dance.

Dr. Kwok graduated from the UC Davis
School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She also holds a Bachelor of
Sciences degree from UC Davis in Avian Sciences. She has been an
associate veterinarian at Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic since July of
2003. Dr. Kwok was married in August of 2005 and now lives with her
husband, five cats, a 3-legged Rottweiler, a cockatiel, canary,
lovebird, two Kenyan sand boas and a few fish. Her special
veterinary interests include all exotics, primarily birds, as well
as dog and cat internal medicine.

Dr. Arlene McKinstry received a Doctorate
of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University (ISU). She did her
undergraduate studies in Animal Science at the University of Puerto
Rico. Her family includes her husband, children, dogs, frogs,
assorted fish and a tortoise. She enjoys spending time with family
and friends, scrap booking, reading, volunteering for children's
causes and caring for animals.

Dr. Mitchell grew up in North Carolina and
graduated from North Carolina State University’s College of
Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She completed a year-long internship
before coming to work for Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic in September
2007.
She enjoys hiking, biking, running and waterskiing. She has two
dogs, "Stan" and "Smudge" who are also from North Carolina.

Dr. Aileen Paech received a Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis following a Bachelor of Science in
Biochemistry. Dr. Paech is especially interested in geriatric
medicine. She is married with a young daughter, two cats, two
cockatiels and a horse. She enjoys backpacking, horseback riding and
scrap booking.

Dr. Beth Parvin received her Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis in
1978. She attended Sacramento State University prior to going to
veterinary school, earning a degree in Medical Technology. In
1999-2000 Dr. Parvin attended a series of classes in Veterinary
Acupuncture at the Chi Institute of Chinese Veterinary Medicine in
Gainesville, Florida. She is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and
practices a combination of Western medicine, complemented by
Acupuncture, when appropriate. Dr. Parvin lives in the Sheldon area
with her husband, son, four dogs, three cats and three horses. She
is a board member of T.E.A.M., a non-profit affiliate of Sacramento
County Animal Care and Regulation, concerned with assisting the
needs of shelter animals and facilitating adoption of healthy
animals. In her free time Dr. Parvin enjoys traveling with her
family, horseback riding, and a variety of outdoor activities.

Teri Pate graduated with a Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine in 1998 from UC Davis. She has a Bachelor of
Arts in psychobiology with a minor in mathematics from University of
California at Santa Cruz. She came to Bradshaw in August 2000 after
completing an internship at South Shore Animal Hospital in
Massachusetts and working in Connecticut. She has special interests
in feline medicine, dentistry and diabetes mellitus. Dr. Pate lives
in a household of special needs pets that include three cats and two
dogs.

Dr. Petrunich was born and raised in Los
Angeles, California. He received his Bachelor’s degree from UCLA in
1992. He then graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary
Medicine in 2001 and completed a small animal internship at the
Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles the following year. His wife,
Olivia, also practices veterinary medicine in Sacramento.
David enjoys snow boarding, watching football and his favorite
Beatle is Paul!

Dr. Diane Schroeder received a Doctorate
of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University after
receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the same
university. Dr. Schroeder’s interests include internal medicine and
cruciate (knee) surgery. She is married and has three sons all
active in sports, a dog and two cats. Both cats were adopted from
Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic. She enjoys gardening, traveling, reading
and quiet time if she can find it!

Dr. Alan Schule received a Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from the University of California at Davis in
2001. Dr. Schule enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and
surgery. In addition to his wife, Jenna (also a veterinarian), his
family consists of four wonderful cats and two special dogs. His
outside interests include: skiing, sports spectating (go Dolphins!),
watching movies, eating sushi and spending time with friends and
family.

Dr. Leslie Silva received her Doctorate in
Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2002. She
has a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry
from San Francisco State University. Dr. Silva’s interests include
senior care, pain management, dentistry, preventative care and
Chiropractic (IVCA certified). Her interests include gardening and
spending lots of time with her two wonderful dogs, (Lucy Bell and
Chunky Man) and dog-like cat (Fishy).

Dr. Sara Wentz grew up in Livermore and
received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2005,
after also receiving her B.S. from UC Davis in 1998. Dr. Wentz has a
special interest in Avian medicine and enjoys all aspects of being a
veterinarian. When she is not work, Dr. Wentz can be found spending
time with her crazy dog, Charlie, two cats, and two cockatiels. She
also enjoys playing the saxophone, backpacking, running and skiing.

Dr. Cami Zatkin grew up in Southern
California. She went to the University of Michigan for her
undergraduate degree and returned to California to study veterinary
medicine at UC Davis. After veterinary school Cami did an internship
at the Sacramento Animal Medical Group before joining the staff at
Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic in 1997. While she enjoys all aspects of
small animal general practice, Cami’s professional interests lie in
ultrasound, endoscopy, surgery, oncology, dermatology and internal
medicine. When not caring for your animals, Cami can be found either
roaming the aisles of Home Depot looking for supplies for the
current home remodeling project, romping with her dogs and cat, or
bicycling, skiing and hiking.

Dr. Christy Corp-Minamiji graduated from
UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 1992 and
received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She is
interested in all areas of large animal practice with emphasis on
Equine preventative care, Bovine medicine, and Camelid medicine. Dr.
Corp-Minamiji has been with Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic since 2001.
She is married with three children, three dogs, one cat and one
horse.

Dr. Joshua Holme graduated from California
State University, Chico in 1997 and received his Doctorate of
Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2003. His special interests
include equine dentistry and reproduction. Dr. Holme was born and
